VENDOR FAQ
Where is the Backyard Market held?
At a one-of-a-kind outdoor space located at 924 S. Main St. in Broken Arrow, OK.
Who can apply?
The Backyard Market is a collection of quality, modern art + goods handcrafted by local makers. We kindly ask that resale and multi-level marketing vendors do not apply.
Do I need a website or shop to be a vendor?
No, absolutely not. One of the reasons we started the Backyard Market was to provide emerging makers a venue to get off and running.
How does the jury decide who is included?
Makers are chosen according to how well their work fits into the scope and vision of the Backyard Market, how well the business and products are represented in the application, and the quality, originality, and aesthetics of the products. We also strive to keep a balance in the type of products available to give vendors the best opportunity possible. Only accepted vendors may participate in the market.
How will I know if my application was accepted?
We will notify you via e-mail. If you are not initially accepted into the market, we may ask you if you'd like to be put on our waiting list. In the event that an accepted vendor is unable to attend, we will ask those who are next on our waiting list to take their place.
Why wasn’t I accepted?
Our venue has a limit on the number of vendors that can be accommodated, and we strive to have a balance in the type of products represented. Some other possible reasons include:
Quality and originality: The Backyard Market seeks quality, modern art + goods handcrafted by local makers. We discourage the overuse of mass-produced materials (e.g. buying chains and adding mass-produced beads) or using non-original designs (e.g. patterns or kits).
Aesthetics: We're looking for art + craft that is modern, fresh, and innovative. We also give preference to eco-friendly and sustainable practices.
If you have any questions about our application, please feel free to contact us.
How much is the booth fee and how big are the vendor spaces?
The booth fee is $20 for a 10’ x 10’ space. You are responsible for your own booth setup including table, tent, signage, and chairs. Other suggested items: business cards, a card reader for accepting credit card payments, and cash for change
How do I pay the booth fee? Is it refundable?
The booth fee is non-refundable and is due within 5 days of acceptance for new vendors (PayPal instructions will be e-mailed to accepted vendors). If payment is not received on time, then your space will be forfeited to a vendor on the waiting list.
If you are unable to show up the day of the event and you do not notify us, you will not be allowed to participate in future events.
Do I need a tax number or vendor's permit?
Vendors are required to submit a copy of their sales tax permit with their application. Assessing, reporting, and remitting sales tax to the Oklahoma Tax Commission is the sole responsibility of the vendor.
